About our campaign

#BucketListPlus1 is a campaign created by Drury University communication students to motivate peers to take control of their end-of-life decisions. In Spring 2018, the campaign team will host various events to educate students on the decisions they may face and the steps to be taken now to ensure that those decisions are honored and understood by family and medical professionals. Our partner, Hospice Foundation of the Ozarks, has provided invaluable support in the development and execution of this campaign.

The campaign culminates on Monday, April 16, 2018, National Healthcare Decisions Day, where students can attend an on-campus event to have their signed advance directive notarized at no charge.

Students participating in the event will be eligible for a prize drawing that can help make their bucket list come true.

So, tell us what’s on your bucket list. Then, follow these steps to make sure you are ready for April 16 and your future:

  1. Learn about the choices that only you can make for end-of-life treatment and care.
  2. Talk with a loved one, family member, or friend about what’s important to you in the event that you are unable to speak for yourself.
  3. Plan for future healthcare decisions by selecting a healthcare agent and completing an advance directive.
  4. Notarize the advance directive and give copies to your agent and medical providers.
